Sorry for my lack of posting, we have been very busy here. The first 5 days we spent going through a crash course on astrophysics and astronomy. So now I understand Kepler’s law and the Planck Constant and other fun stuff. Right now, I’m working on gathering Red and Blue filter images of nebulae to find the brihgtest stars and then classify those on their composition and type. The only problem is the telescopes we need to use are in Cerro Tololo and they have bad weather tonight, so I may not get the images I need for my group to finish the project. I will try to make a post tonight after dinner, but no promises.
I arrived at PARI about an hour ago. Everyone here is pretty friendly, only bad thing about this place is I don’t get AIM service. So no IMing for two weeks. Its raininghere, so I only could get one picture. This is the eastern 26 meter radio telescope.
When I got off my flight from Fort Myers to Charlotte, the jetway, B-13 was broken. I sometimes wonder if I have bad luck. According to the stewardess, this was a first for her. After we got moved to a new jetway I had to walk clean across the airport. Terminal B and Terminal E are as far apart as possible with this airport. Even my gates were at the ends of their respective terminals.
My next plane:
Just got through security for the airport, talk about a pain in the ass. Take of your shoes, and your belt, take all electronics and liquids out of your bag, then reverse the procedure after proving you are one of the good guys. What do I care, a police state is a safe state, right?
I’m going to make a habit of posting pictures as I travel, so check back daily if you wish or not at all. Totally your choice. Track my flight here.
My gate:
I am going to use this as my blog. Hopefully I will keep up with this one and post more than never. Expect many pictures in the next few weeks, going to a summer camp on astronomy. It will be tons of fun. ![]()
